There are times when I see those little sayings such as
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!"
and
"When life gives you scraps, make quilts!"
OK, let's get real. Last weekend, I cleaned my basement out. Literally threw out a ton of stuff. While this might sound like a healthy thing to do, the fact that the stuff I threw out was soaked in sewage kind of made it well, not really my choice so much as my job.
And after cleaning up the mess and paying $649 for the pleasure of being able to use my pipes again (for at least two years! It's guaranteed!), my daughter brings me the cozy pj pants that I knitted a year or so ago. The ones that took about $70 in yarn and that I could have lived and died in.
Yes. They had gotten put in the regular wash and were now beautifully felted.
And I won't be knitting a new pair now, will I?
OK. I'm done.
Gimme that fuckin lemonade and no one gets hurt!
