So, here's the scoop.
I consider myself relatively well informed. I listen to a variety of news sources (none of them cable, none of them network aside from PBS). I am driven to distraction by both the right and the left when it comes to their scathing one sided diatribes that TELL YOU HOW TO THINK AND WHAT TO SAY AND IF YOU DISAGREE, OH MY GOD YOU MUST BE RETARDED.

I am also driven insane by hyperbole. In the few, horrifying moments that I have witnessed cable news, every story plays out as if an ADD patient is locked in a hall of mirrors.

I want my news to ask intelligent questions and not let the interviewee get away with bullshitting their way through the awnsers.

Now, as the presidential races are coming into their, oh I don't know, 24th month of campaigning, and the airwaves are filled with poles and folks are actually starting to pick and choose their initial candidates, can I just say one thing?

SHUT THE FUCK UP AND VOTE!

If I have to listen one more time to the over analysis of a single state's decisions as if EVERYTHING IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE HINGES ON THIS SINGLE STATE, I am going to shove an ice pick in my ears. People in the media seem to be absolutely blown away that the second state's results are different from the first! How could this be? We took poles! We told the people what to think! HOW COULD THIS BE!!!!!!!

And I don't care who you're voting for, I don't care what you think, I JUST DON'T CARE...if I have to see one more candidate talking about why they won or why they lost, my head will explode. Let's face it, all of these people except for one will end up as a fish wrapper in yesterday's news.

We are two states into this thing and all I wish for is the sweet kiss of ennui. I wish I didn't care. I wish I could just wrap myself up in the trivial bullshit that so much of this nation seems to care about. I mean, is Brittany and Jamie Lynn's mother to blame for all of their problems?????
