At some point in the life of this house, not only were a couple studs in a load bearing wall obliterated, but the majority of the studs in the load bearing wall were obliterated.
I'm not talking termites here. I'm talking a mac truck driven through the side of the house.
But damn! My hot water is HOT!
My sump pump is pumping.
And I'm considering trading sexual favors for the remainder of the home improvement. (You don't even want to imagine the rates sheet. Reads like a handyman's porno.)
I'm a slut for a well plastered wall.
I'm hoping that the rest of the dining room goes with no surprises. No more broken studs. No demons in the ceiling crawl space. No dead bodies beneath the wallboard. Just a nice, straight forward paint job.
Yeah........riiiiiiggghhht!

When most of life is turmoil, it's a very good thing to be able to at least put your immediate environment into some kind of order.
I think it's great that you're fixing your house up -- and it's exactly the right thing for you to be doing.
Good lord! Who inspected your house before you bought it?
I don't remember who the inspector was but in all honesty, inspectors don't usually rip off your siding or plaster and inspect your studs, or do they??
Yea - and I imagine, since it's Duluth it's probably an older home?
Pretty close to a hundred years old.
